Vladimir Babeshko was born on 11.02.1984 in Kazan, Russia.

He received his first violin lessons at the special school for musically gifted children in his home town. At the age of 13 he changed to the viola and completed his studies in 2009 under Prof. Olga Habibulina at the college of music there.

During his studies Vladimir Babeshko also took part in master classes by Prof. Yuri Bashmet in Moscow, which he continued with the same teacher in the subsequent years in Siena. Since 2006 he has also studied at the College of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt am Main under Prof. Jörg Heyer and Ingrid Zur.

Vladimir Babeshko has won prizes in numerous national and international competitions and has also been awarded several stipends:

In April 2002 he won the 1st prize in the international competition for young string instrument players and received in this context distinctions from the international Vladimir Spivakov Foundation and the Vladimir Krainev Foundation. In June 2003 he won a further 1st prize at the international competition for young musicians “Koka” in Moldavia, and in 2007 he won 1st prize in the DAAD competition in Frankfurt am Main.

In 2009 he successfully participated in the “Carl-Flesch-Akademie” in Baden-Baden under Prof. Hartmut Rohde, won the Rohde Viola Prize and was engaged as a soloist with the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra. The program of the prize-winner concert included the viola concert by Bela Bartok.

In the years 2005 to 2008 Vladimir Babeshko was solo viola player of the Academy Orchestra of the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival and has been working regularly with the maestro Christoph Eschenbach since 2007.

In 2008 Vladimir Babeshko took part in the festival “Chamber Music Connects the World” in Kronberg and played various chamber music programs with Gidon Kremer, Gary Hoffman and Lynn Harrell, also at the Lockenhaus Festival in Austria.
