After all, the coronavirus pandemic has stripped freelance professional musicians of their livelihood. From one day to the next, there were no more performances – and thus no income.
“Art is long” – but only if we support these musicians with our solidarity – not just verbally, but also through our private donations. In March the German Orchestra Foundation initiated an Emergency Relief Fund to help freelancers whom the cancellation of concerts and events has plunged into fear for their survival.
I very kindly ask for your solidarity: please help the German Orchestra Foundation offer existential relief. Every Euro helps!
Monika Grütters, Federal Commissioner of Culture, and Kirill Petrenko have taken on the patronage for the German Orchestra Foundation’s fundraising campaign. This patronage sends a strong signal on behalf of all musicians, and certainly offers further encouragement for a generous donation.
“Life is short” – but if it is filled with music, it is all the more beautiful.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Anne-Sophie Mutter
