Starting June 14, 2018 Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in Australia

29 May 2018 – In Australia, Anne-Sophie Mutter will appear with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra under the baton of David Robertson, as well as the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sir Andrew Davis. She plays John Williams’ Markings for solo violin, strings and harp, which the composer dedicated to her and which she premiered on July 16, 2017 together with the Boston Symphony Orchestra under Andris Nelsons in Tanglewood. This will be the Australian premiere of Markings. During these concerts in June 2018 she will also perform Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto. This work has also been recorded twice so far by the artist: a 1988 recording with the Vienna Philharmonic under Herbert von Karajan was followed by another with the Vienna Philharmonic and Sir André Previn in 2004.
