The Mutter Virtuosi Tour 2014

USA and Canada – Video Blog The Mutter Virtuosi Tour 2014

  • Two US premieres: Previn Violin Concerto No. 2 and Currier’s “Ringtone Variations“

  • Benefit concerts in Europe

In November 2014, Anne-Sophie Mutter goes on tour with current and former scholarship students of her Foundation for the third time: The Mutter Virtuosi appear at seven concerts in Canada and the USA. A work commissioned by the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation, Ringtone Variations, as well as Previn’s Violin Concerto No. 2 will have their first concert performances on the North American continent. The tour repertoire also includes the Bach Double Concerto for Two Violins, the Mendelssohn Octet and Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. This year, the exclusive soloist ensemble includes 13 string players, accompanied by the Norwegian harpsichordist Knut Johanessen.

Two benefit concerts frame the North American tour: shortly before their departure, Anne-Sophie Mutter and her ensemble perform at a benefit for the organ renovation of the parish church in Aurach (Austria), and right after their return they play a benefit performance for the Lebenshilfe Worms, which supports mentally handicapped persons.
