Iceland – USA – Canada
At the turn of the new year, Anne-Sophie Mutter and “Mutter’s Virtuosi” tour Iceland, the USA and Canada. The programmes include the Concerto in A-major Op. 5 No. 2 by Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint Georges, Unsuk Chin’s Gran Cadenza (commissioned by Mutter), Vivaldi’s Concerto for Four Violins in B-minor Op. 3 No. 10 and his Four Seasons.
The first performance takes place on January 27 in Reykjavík – Mutter’s first performance in Iceland since the 1980s, and a premiere for the soloists’ ensemble. Seven concerts in Iceland, Canada and the USA await Mutter’s Virtuosi during their concert tour in January and February 2023.
The ensemble led by Mutter includes twelve string players on this tour, plus the Norwegian harpsichord player Knut Johannessen. Violinists Ryan Meehan as well as Elias Moncado and violist Sara Ferrández join the ensemble for the first time.
