BIOGRAFIE
Let the Music unite the World.
Klangdokumente.
HELLO
WORLD
I’m so excited to take you backstage with me at the Asian premiere of my new single ”Likoo“ by composer @aftab.darvishi here in Taiwan. This evening also marks the official launch of my 50th stage anniversary - what a start to the year. Also, stay tuned: at 2pm CET I‘ll be sharing something special on this account with @alpha_classics 🎻 Thank you everyone for joining me on this journey!
Happy to be sharing the stage with you:
@taiwanphilharmonic & @linitaconductor at the #TaipeiNationalConcertHall

I arrived in Taipei! 🇹🇼✈️ After a long journey, it was time for a short nap before the day began: photo shoot, TV interview… & later a first walk through the city. I’m always inspired by this city’s energy & especially grateful to be here for something very close to my heart.
This visit marks the beginning of a new chapter: ASM Forte Forward, my new recording series with @alpha_classics, dedicated entirely to contemporary music. The very first release is “Likoo”, a solo violin work written for me by the wonderful composer @aftab.darvishi, out January 23, 2026 - the same evening I’ll be on stage at Taipei National Concert Hall, performing the Asian & Taiwan premiere of John Williams’ Violin Concerto No. 2, along with his beloved film music, and the Asian premiere of “Likoo“ together with the NSO National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of @linitaconductor.
The album “East Meets West” will follow on March 27, 2026!
As I celebrate 50 years on the world’s great stages, it feels deeply meaningful to share new music, new voices, and new journeys - starting here in Taiwan. 🎻

Preparing for tour 😇😩 No performances without lots of practice beforehand, of course. Yes, even I still get those flying nerves before heading out on tour, especially as I am presenting my new album on @alpha_classics to my fans in Taiwan! Here I’m also sharing one of my favourite quick recipes with you: perfect for busy practice days when time is short but you still want to eat healthy. And of course, never not exploring the streets with my partner in crime, Bonnie. Just look at her sweet little sweater 🐶 To give my head a little break from studying and reading up, I love going to the movies 🎬 The climate change presentation by Harald Lesch was phenomenal. He’s an astrophysicist, environmentalist & philosopher. So much to learn. An amazing mind!

Happy new year, my dear fans and friends! May the force be with you all ❤️ May you be blessed with love and kindness and may the world find peace.
I had the best first day of the new year ever!💫 It was @nezetseguin’s debut at the Neujahrskonzert of the legendary @viennaphilharmonic.
An absolutely unforgettable day: There was such a sense of community, joy, and love on stage and in the hall.
The music-making was beyond words… It exemplified what music stands for: kindness, appreciation of our different ways of life, and a sense of belonging to each other.
One of the encores, “On the Beautiful Blue Danube,” suddenly sounded like a love song to our beautiful blue planet.

May your life be blessed with love, compassion, and forgiveness! I am deeply grateful for my music-loving community. The universal language of music is a language of love. This year has been marked by many travesties that, even when observed from the privileged safety of our homes, have left us feeling helpless and desolate at times. There are so many war zones around the globe, and world hunger is rising dramatically. 473 million children are now living in war zones. My heart is breaking, and it goes out to the heroes of organisations such as @savethechildren_de and @doctorswithoutborders. Please join me at the Frauenkirche in Dresden on May 12th for a benefit in aid of Doctors Without Borders. Together, we can make the world a better place! Yes, we can ❤️

“It’s not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving.“ - Mother Teresa 💫 Wishing you happy holidays and a wonderful new year 2026!

Just as music has the power to unite us, the #ScarfForLife reminds us to stand together and extend a hand of humanity. For many years, I have supported this initiative by @savethechildren_de and @brigittemagazin as it’s such an important symbol of solidarity with children in need.
This Christmas, I warmly invite you to take part by purchasing the scarf, knitting your own, or making a direct
donation — whether alone, with family or in the company of a loyal four-legged friend like me
With every scarf, 10 euros go directly to Save the Children, offering children protection, education, and hope. Head
to @savethechildren_de to learn more. #SchalfürsLeben

I feel deeply honored to have been invited to a State Banquet given at Windsor Castle by the King and Queen in honor of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier. It was a pleasure to be representing Germany as one of the many musicians it is nurturing.
My artistic relationship with the fabulous musicians from the UK couldn’t be closer: I’ve just toured with the @royalphilorchestra, and another tour with the @londonphilharmonicorchestra is coming up in February (remember: I performed all the Mozart concerti with them without a conductor!).
“For much of my life, I have sought to promote and encourage ways we can work with, rather than against, nature,” says King Charles in the Prime Video documentary “Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision”. King Charles is not only a cellist and an ardent supporter of the arts, but also a pioneer of sustainable, nature-aligned living for more than 50 years.
No photos were allowed inside Windsor Castle, but here’s a small glimpse of yesterday’s event.
The pipe programme was simply breathtaking!
And how wonderful: the quartet from the Royal Academy of Music reminded me of my early days of teaching, right there at that very institution.
